Mapping using stereo system

Jin-Woo Kim(Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Korea), Wang-Heon Lee(Hansei University, Korea), Jong-Eun Ha(Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Korea)

In this paper, we deal with mapping using stereo vision system on a mobile robot. Mapping is done by following simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). The motion model is configured by visual odometry given by stereo system. The measurement model is set by using 3D information given by stereo system. The final least squares problem is solved by using g2o framework. Experimental results show that correct matching in stereo system has dramatic effects in mapping.

A Survey on Applications of High Dynamic Range Technologies in Consumer Electronic Devices

YoungSu Moon(Samsung Electronics (SEC), Korea)

High dynamic range (HDR) technology are actively being applied to cutting-edge consumer electronics products such as premium UHDTV, premium smart phones and etc. In consumer premium TVs, there exist two kinds of HDR processing technologies: tone mapping (TM) to render HDR content on SDR display, and an inverse tone mapping (iTM) to render a SDR content on HDR display. Several HDR standaradizations have been done for some metadata on mastering display and HDR signal encoding. And The CE industry tries to successfuly utilize a opportunity of brand-new HDR in addition to the 4K UHD media devices.

Image-based 3-axis force estimation of a touch sensor with soft material

Jong-Il Lee(Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, Korea)

The purpose of this study is to acquire information about the forces acting in 3-axis using the camera of the machine vision. Unlike existing force sensor, We developed the 3-axis force sensor consisting of a soft material. We proceed 3-axis force estimation experiments using Vision-based multi-modal air touch sensor (VMATS). Based on the results of the experiments, We can demonstrate the effect on the elastic modulus and strength and can be obtained and the VMATS tri-axial force estimation data.

Development of Vision System for Defect Inspection of Electric Parts in the Tape and Reel Package

Chang Ho Han, Kuk Won Ko, Ji Yeon Lee, Sangjoon Lee(Sunmoon University, Korea)

Tape and reel packaging process is one of the important final manufacturing process of electric chip. During and after this packaging process, the defects of chips in the tape and reel package should be inspected. It is so time and cost consuming task by human inspectors. The main defects of chip in the tape and reel package are orientation chip, a wrong type chip and marking defects of chips. In this paper, the automatic vision system and image processing algorithms are developed to inspect the above defects on tape and reel packaging process. The high speed vision algorithm is based on multi
