    Keum-Shik Hong (Pusan National University) This organized session is aimed to bring together researchers, academicians, scientists, engineers and practitioners from various leading research labs and organization to participate and present their latest findings, ideas, developments and applications in the field of brain engineering including brain-machine interface, brain imaging and neuro rebabilitation. Any topics in brain engineering including modeling, estimation, and any other stimulation/control technique are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

    OS003 Statistical Inference, Data Mining and Control

    Presentation Type : Oral Session
    Yohei Saika (National Institute of Technology / Gunma College) This session overviews recent advances on statistical inference, data mining and control, through several researches on statistical analyses for time-series prediction, compressed sensing for image processing, motion analysis, and control and measurement in visible light communication and 3d odometry.

    Sungho Kim (Yeungnam University) / YoungSu Moon (Samsung Electronics) / Wang-Heon Lee (Hansei University) The scope of this session includes theories and applications related with machine vision. Recent state-of-the-art technologies are presented and discussed.
    OS005 Recent advances in robust and nonlinear control theories and their applications

    Hyo-Sung Ahn (GIST) This session provides recent advances in robust and nonlinear control theories and their applications. Mainly, this session introduces advances of disturbance observer and state observer theories in robust control of mechatronics systems. Also, applications of robust and nonlinear control theories to distributed multi-agent systems are highlighted.
    OS006 Uncertainty and disturbance estimation and rejection

    Donghai Li (Tsinghua Univ) / Zhiqiang Gao (Cleveland State Univ) / Li Sun (Tsinghua Univ) / Kwang. Y. Lee (Baylor Univ) / Hyungbo Shim (Seoul National University) This session welcomes the papers that are focued on the estimation and rejection of the uncertainty and disturbance. The covered topics include but are not limited to Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC), Disturbance Observer based Control (DOBC), Uncertainty and Disturbance Estimator (UDE) based control.

    OS007 Recent Advances in Cable-Driven Parallel Robotics

    Jong Oh Park (Robot Research Initiative / Chonnam National University) A cable-driven parallel robotic system is a type of the parallel robot whose end-effector is connected to the frame through multiple cables in parallel. This session provides recent advances in the development and the control theories of the cable-driven parallel robotics. Mainly this session focuses on the new promising applications of the cable-driven parallel robot and the advanced control algorithms. In addition, it also provides the analytic results of their vibration behavior.
    OS008 Dynamic analysis and control of a precision system

    Bong-Soo Kang (Hannam University) This session is coordinated to address new issues and solving methods in developing precision systems. Specially, topics related to robot technology, intelligent control scheme, innovative sensing/actuation mechanism, are discussed considering theory and application aspects.

    Der-Cherng Liaw (National Chiao Tung University) / Kai-Tai Song (National Chiao Tung University) This session covers the topics of control design for intelligent system, which will involve the subjects of fault-tolerant control, sensing technique, the platform design for IOT, robot control and vehicle guidance control.
    OS010 Smart Medical Devices and Systems

    Joonho Seo (Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials) / Kyungtaik Park (Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials) In this session, core technologies and their applications for medical devices and systems are introduced.
    The presentations include robotic diagnosis, rehabilitation engineering, bio-signal interface, and assistive technology, and so on.

    This session is organized to discuss various kinds of advanced robots and their technologies from industrial robots to service robots of Korea and Japan.
